The Estée Lauder Companies UK & Ireland hosted a Roundtable on Scope 3 emissions during London Climate Action Week 2024, convening a group of sustainability leaders from across industries at Goals House.

The closed-door roundtable hosted by Sue Fox, President, ELC UK&I, and Sandeep Rana, Citizenship & Sustainability Senior Director, ELC UK&I, provided a platform for an open and honest discussion on the learnings, challenges, actionable solutions and innovations to address Scope 3 emissions, setting a precedent for driving meaningful progress as we approach COP29.

Attendees included Chief Sustainability Officers, Chief Innovation Officers and Sustainability Professionals from various industries. London’s Goals House, part of a global community of internationally renowned activists, thinkers, political figures, business leaders, and entrepreneurs, provided the perfect setting for a confidential and constructive discussion.

Mark Jones, Chief Sustainability Officer at The Hut Group, expressed that we must “focus on progress over perfection. When we are so fixed on updating and getting data perfect, you get lost in not doing the actual work to make the progress”.

Founded in 2019, LCAW remains one of the world’s largest independent climate change events, with the goal of influencing global, national and local policies and advancements. The Roundtable event delivered very insightful conversations and helped drive a shared sense of determination and thirst for innovation on tackling Scope 3 emissions.

“We are looking at the future, and how we can continue to make our operations more sustainable for the long term” said Sue Fox in her opening remarks. “This is why we are laser focused on our Scope 3 emissions. On this journey, we have come to realize the importance of strategic partnerships and innovation [and as such] we look at and mobilize our entire supply chain”.
