Tara Simon

Tara Simon is President, North America at The Estée Lauder Companies. Assuming the role in January 2025, Tara leads the execution of the company’s North America strategy across brick-and-mortar channels, including within specialty-multi, department and freestanding stores. In the U.S. and Canada, Tara is responsible for driving growth momentum, profitability and market share gains in the areas of greatest opportunity with maximum relevancy and scale.

A bold, authentic and highly collaborative leader, Tara is widely regarded for her energy and passion for driving agility in innovation and fostering creativity. She is a self-proclaimed “beauty junkie” with a proven record for delivering winning business results specifically within the specialty-multi prestige beauty space. She is particularly passionate about fostering relationships and partnerships in business and developing top-tier talent. 

 

Tara has over 30 years of experience in the beauty industry. Most recently, she served as Global Brand President, West Coast Brands, The Estée Lauder Companies, where she oversaw Too Faced, Smashbox and GLAMGLOW. In this role, she successfully launched Too Faced in new channels of distribution in North America including in the U.S. Amazon Premium Beauty Store.

Tara joined The Estée Lauder Companies in 2020 from Ulta Beauty where she had served as Senior Vice President of Merchandising, Prestige Beauty since 2015. From 2012 to 2015, she was Vice President, Prestige Color, at Ulta. Before Ulta, she was Senior Vice President, Merchandising, Planning & Inventory at Beauty Brands, a specialty-multi retailer, from 2008 to 2012. Prior to this, she spent two years at Sephora as Divisional Merchandise Manager, Color Merchandising in San Francisco. Tara began her career at the Foley’s department store in Houston, Texas where over her 19-year tenure, she held various positions of increasing responsibility in cosmetics and fragrance.  

Tara currently serves on the board of directors for Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW), The Harvard Kennedy School Women’s Leadership Board, and the board of Step Up. She is also a theater lover and actively supports the Stages Repertory Theatre in Houston, Texas.   

A native Texan, Tara is a proud graduate of the University of Texas School of Business. She currently resides in the New York City area.
